Texaco 1959 Chevrolet El Camino
The El Camino™ was introduced for the year 1959, and according to Chevrolet® stylist Chuck Jordan, head GM designer Harley Earl suggested the creation of a coupé pickup. The 1959 El Camino™ was available with any full-sized Chevrolet® drivetrain, from a standard six cylinder up to a powerful V8 model. Payload rating ranged from 650–1,150 lb. depending on powertrain and suspension made the El Camino™ the perfect marina/harbor side maintenance/delivery vehicle.
